Welcome to the Home of Simple Injury Solutions and Prevention Techniques!

Regardless of how much pain you are in or how hopeless it may feel, you too can get yourself out of pain and back to doing what you love most just like I have!

My name is Will and I want to start by telling you a little bit about myself and then move into what you can expect from this blog.

I have been an athlete all my life: baseball, basketball, football, swimming, you name it! But as I got older I fell in love with soccer and it has become the only sport that I follow now. While soccer become more of a passion of mine I also discovered how much I enjoyed running. It seemed to have this meditative effect on me that whenever I would come home from playing soccer or running for a few hours, I would have a zen-like calm and focus about me for the rest of the day.

During college, however, I found myself practising taekwondo and getting increasingly serious about the sparring and competition aspect of it.

I realized as an adult how important competition and having a reason to work out hard is as an adult. It had been about 4 or 5 years since I had competed as an athlete and I felt a new appreciation for how much this drove me to improve myself. As a kid, I never processed just how helpful all this activity and physicality was for me.

With all this physical activity back in my life, I was reaping the rewards and it showed in the rest of my life. I was much happier and able to manage stress, I felt healthy and vibrant. There wasn’t much you could do to bring me down at this point.

This was all well and great, but I still struggled with the same thing that had held me back in other sports….injuries. During one of my taekwondo classes, I suffered a very serious injury to my foot (left heel specifically) that left me unable to walk properly for months no matter what I tried to do to help it. It has since taken me out of all physical activity for over a year now and left me feeling hopeless that I might not ever be the same.

I always had sprained or broken ankles and feet, hip flexor and hamstring strains, ligament damage that ended my baseball career, and now a foot injury that has ended my taekwondo competition days.

When you see how beneficial exercise is for your well-being, you REALLY miss it when you can’t have it. And that’s been me for a while now. I suffered many injuries from running with improper footwear and technique and another slew of injuries while competing within taekwondo.

This foot injury was ultimately the straw that broke the camel’s back with me. I was shaken up by the severity of the injury and scared because I didn’t understand what it was or how to fix it. I had had enough with these constant injuries that were hindering my athletic ability and ultimately holding me back in life as well.

I visited several doctors, did lots of my own research, and much trial and error with exercises that left me feeling frustrated and hopeless. I was genuinely wondering if my foot would ever return to it’s old self and if I’d be able to compete in sports ever again.

From this struggle, however, I found actionable answers for anyone who has suffered similar injuries or just wants their body to feel better. My goal is to share it with as many people as I can because the most concerning thing to me is that this information is straightforward in nature, but incredibly hard to find. In addition, you may not even know what you’re looking for when trying to find pain solutions when the answer is usually to fix another part of your body.

I have been very let down and disappointed with every single doctor that I visited seeking advice. All I got was expensive walking boots, more x-rays, and hands thrown up in the air. Not what I would expect from “professionals”. Their answers were completely backwards to what I have found actually works and I have great news for you: it doesn’t cost thousands of dollars! Oh and another thing, anyone can do these things! Right in the comfort of your own home!

I want to make the road to recovery as far from scary as I can and show everyone that you will get better if you apply the techniques because they’re actually simple. I also want to highlight the beneficial information out there and disregard the rest of the nonsense that is counter-intuitive and will just waste your time.

Here’s why you should pay attention if you feel you can relate. I lost my ability to blow off steam, I lost my way of managing stress, and I lost my meditation. This was very hard on me towards the beginning. I could no longer kick targets or heavy bags, I could no longer shoot a soccer ball, and I could no longer run for hours to get away for a while. In fact, I could barely even walk.

This is what this blog is for; taking back your mobility whatever your reason may be. I know how depressing it can be to lose your sense of alone time and getting away from the stress of each day and it’s not easy to cope. But with the knowledge and strategies we will be discussing on this site, you can be back to full fitness and quite possibly stronger than before if you apply the ideas. These are tools for anyone of all ages to use and get yourself where you want to be.

I’ll see you inside!
